MCGRAW-HILL PROFESSIONAL NOW OFFERS MARC 21 RECORDS FOR ACCESSMEDICINE
McGraw-Hill Professional now offers MARC 21 records for the books on our AccessMedicine online product. With MARC 21 records, libraries can import detailed bibliographic information about their holdings into their Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC).
Delivery of these .mrc & .html files is through the Library Resource Centers of both products with the library picking up the files on a quarterly basis. MARC 21 Records are provided with no additional charge for those libraries that have purchased AccessMedicine.
The files attached here are a PDF to show you what the files look like, an HTML file of the records, and a .MRC file. If you have any questions, please contact your sales representative or Customer Servive at OnlineCustomer_Service@mcgraw-hill.com.
MARC 21 records are widely used international data standards for the representation and exchange of authority, bibliographic, classification, and holdings data in machine-readable form. The availability of bibliographic information in .mrc and .html formats enables a library to automatically upload a large number of titles into its OPAC/catalog with ease. As a result, all books on AccessMedicine will be visible and searchable through the respective library systems and link to subscribed content without manual keying.
Super Records: For customers who have subscribed to more than one Access product, we have included "super records" which have all of the medical texts on all of the products in the MARC 21 record format. Librarians need only to delete the records on products they do not currently subscribe to.
